Undoing Ruin is Darkest Hour’s fourth full-length studio album and was released in June 0f 2005. Produced by Devin Townsend Undoin Ruin was recorded at Green House studio’s, Vancouver, BC in March of 2005. Over the course of a 5 week period Darkest Hour crafted one of thier most melodic yet most destructive records to date. A much more “metal” version of the band Townsends production along with meloncaly melodies and somber/emotional/ lyrics about personal strife helped the band enter the US Billboard 200 for the first time garnering wide critical aclaim. Undoing Ruin marks the first sonically slick produced record of Darkest Hour’s carrier as well as a change in a bit of the vocal direction. The success of this record spawned two music videos for “Convalescence” and “Sound the Surrender” and established Darkest Hour as one of the leading metal/punk/hardcore/ hybridists.
